| If you are planning to visit us anytime soon and are driving, please do not use the Lidl car park across the road. It has been brought to our attention, and not for the first time, that Lidl rather cunningly are issuing parking tickets to our patrons. Let us explain how it works.
How does the hidden cam work?
It takes a snapshot of your car registration when you enter the car park and again as you leave and calculates how long you have stayed. If you stay for longer that one and a half hours you will receive a bill for £60
Q How do Lidl know my address?
A Its simple, they pay an annual fee to the DVLA who hold all your details and in return DVLA give out your address.
Q. Surely its not that simple, there must be some sort of criteria in place to stop them abusing the system?
A There is a strict code of practice as laid down by the DVLA but they ignore it and if you want to take them to task it will cost you a lot more than £60!
Q I read in the local paper that Fat Sam’s took legal advice and had over one hundred tickets rescinded, is this true?
A. Indeed we did and it cost us a four-figure sum for that legal advice!
